D.C. is known for being flooded with tourists during the spring and summer months, but one of the best times to visit the city is in the fall. The weather is cooler, the sidewalks are clearer, and as always, the cannabis is recreational. Whether you’re just across the Potomac or you’re coming from further away, visiting D.C. is always worth the trip. People who live outside the Beltway think we’re all politics and government, but there’s a vibrant art, history, food, and music scene, too. And legal recreational cannabis, too. This combination attracts people from all over the country to the area for the sole purpose of getting some of the dankest weed available without having to have a medical card. Some people call it Cannabis Tourism, or Canna-tourism. I don’t care what you call it, but tons of people are doing it, especially in the Nation’s Capital. It’s a heady combination in a hell of a town, and finding the right recreational cannabis dispensary to help you elevate is key to unlocking all the fun and relaxation possible in D.C., and for me there’s no better choice than Select-Co-Op.
If you travel to a place frequently or even just occasionally, securing a reliable plug for your cannabis needs is a big decision. Never mind that cannabis dispensaries aren’t like the massive walk ins you find in Colorado or California. D.C. is a little more intimate and personal, which is why I always recommend Select Co-Op to anyone who will listen, because not only is it one of the best recreational dispensaries in the Mid-Atlantic, it’s honestly one of the best I’ve experienced, period, and I think you’ll say the same once you try it.
Maybe you’re coming for the mambo sauce and your favorite musical act at the 9:30 Club or Pearl Street. Or maybe you’re here to hop over to the Arlington Memorial Cemetery one day and cheer on the Football Team (Or root against them). But how do you choose the right recreational dispensary to elevate your experience? You probably want quality. You probably want privacy. You probably want consistency. You probably want knowledgeability. Some might tell you that there’s no way you’re going to get all of that from one place but since I don’t want to compromise on any of these things, the only choice for me is Select Co-Op. It’s not an illegal storefront where everything can be shut down at a moment’s notice. It’s not a pop-up with questionable quality and rude or amateurish service. My guy at Select always hooks me up with the best, highest quality stuff with a convenient delivery. And the best part is, you don’t need a medical card or DC residency to get the best quality stuff. If you have a card, then great, but everyone is welcome, as long as they are over 21.
I learned the hard way that Select Co-Op was the way to go for recreational weed in D.C. and to steer clear of popup shops and storefronts that are more inconsistent in quality. They’re always in my Instagram feed, and unfortunately some see that as an endorsement rather than an attempt to get a crowd. But I went to two pop-ups, and based on their social ads I expected a cool crowd, wide selection and a gathering of like minds. The reality was…not that. The venue was small, and in a sketchy area with two big dudes in front of the door. And to top it off, they had basically no product, and what they did have included a lot of seeds and stems. It was also a pretty high pressure environment, where the guy was pushing me to buy clearly inferior product. I would have laughed in his face if it was a different type of place. Definitely not worth it if you’re trying to get a quality high for a reasonable price. If you’re coming to D.C. and you want a high quality recreational cannabis dispensary in the area, don’t play around. Come to Select Co-Op and see what’s up.
