What To Do With Kief?

Simply put, marijuana buds contain resinous glands, known as trichomes. When these trichomes are dried and break off from the plant, they form kief.

This break-off contains concentrated levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), terpenes, and other compounds.

Kief can be collected in a variety of manners. However, most people garner it through the “kief catcher” at the bottom of their grinder. Just remember that it may take a few weeks to months to build up.

Kief is similar to hash, ice water, and bubble hash. However, the key difference is it’s devised solely from the cannabis plant – containing no other ingredients or manufacturing process. As a result, it’s a more natural concentration, if that’s what you’re looking for.

The color of kief varies depending on the strain of cannabis these trichomes come from. Most of the time, it’s beige or golden brown. It’s powdery and can sometimes be sticky, garnering it the nicknames of “dust” and “pollen.”
